Local Place Plan for Stepps and District
Stepps and District Community Council is pleased to publish its finalised Local Place Plan.
Our Plan has now been published on the North Lanarkshire Council Website page
"Register of Local Place Plans"
Once a plan has been entered into the register, it will be considered in the preparation of the new Local Development Plan (LDP) for North Lanarkshire.
The Plan provides a framework for action which takes into account the survey responses from the local community.
Its production has been greatly assisted by the use of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust Place Standard Toolkit, National Planning Framework 4 resources and the Improvement Service Place and Wellbeing Outcomes all of which have contributed to the content of the Plan.
The Local Place Plan aims to:
-
Set out a Community Vision for our area, how it could be improved and the actions to achieve this.
-
Highlight identified Community Action Priorities. These are set out under the five themes of the Improvement Service’s Place and Wellbeing Outcomes which are designed to improve Scotland’s wellbeing and reduce inequality.
-
Influence the public sector on planning policy and the use of land in the next North Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2.
-
Give regard to National Planning Framework 4 which has been used as a guide when framing this Plan.
We wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in the development of The Local Place Plan.
